FAQs
Special times call for special measures, including in cultural interactions. Our events take place strictly subject to the regulations set by the state of Berlin. Please observe the current hygiene and distancing rules.
Our venues are equipped for people with mobility impairments. In the Kulturhaus, wheelchair users are requested to register in advance for their visit to events, as only a limited number of wheelchair spaces are available on the theater balcony (second floor). For people with severe disabilities arriving with their own vehicle, there are two parking spaces that can be used by prior arrangement.
The open-air stage at the Citadel and the Gothic Hall are fully accessible. A short, direct path to the front of the Gothic Hall is possible by prior arrangement. However, this is not the case for the open-air stage: from the road, there is a 300 m path through the forest. Accessible restrooms are available in all venues.
Animals are not allowed in any of our venues.
moking is not permitted in the open-air stage at the Citadel, in the Kulturhaus Spandau, the Gothic Hall, or the Italian Courtyards.
Admission generally starts 30 minutes before the event begins.
All of our events and venues work on the free-seating concept. For organizational reasons, reservations are not possible. However, wheelchair users and their caregivers are requested to make advance reservations.
Tickets can be purchased online via the ticket link on the event page (booking fees apply), or at the customer service center (Kundenbüro) in the Kulturhaus. For most events, tickets are also available at the tourist information center in the Gothic House (booking fees apply) in the historic town center of Spandau. Alternatively, you can reserve tickets by phone or email and pick them up at the box office up to 30 minutes before the event begins. For those who decide to attend an event last-minute, there are sometimes remaining tickets available. On the website, you can easily find out if an event is sold out. Please note that we accept cash payments only.
The box office for all events opens about one hour before the start of the event. Please pick up your pre-booked tickets up to 30 minutes before the event begins. Please note that we accept cash payments only.
Discounted tickets are offered for many events, and are available for children, adolescents, students, recipients of social assistance and persons with severe disabilities (from 50% disability; if a “B” is on the ID card their caregiver received free admission, but the person must be registered due to the space available). An appropriate ID must be presented at the time of ticket purchase and upon admission.
If you ordered tickets online, for self-printing or for download to your smartphone, and the money has been debited but you have not received an email with the tickets, please email or call the customer service center (Kundenbüro) at the Kulturhaus.
You can purchase gift cards in any amount at our customer service center (Kundenbüro). Gift cards do not expire, and are valid for all venues in the Kulturhaus except for the cinema. The cinema (Kino im Kulturhaus) offers its own gift cards.
If there are age restrictions, you will find them listed in the information on the event page. As a parent or guardian, you are responsible for your child during events.
As soon as we have dates with Sascha Grammel set, we will publish them on our website. You can get tickets online directly via the ticket link, or you can book tickets by phone. If you do not find any dates on our website, there are currently no performances planned. Pre-reservations are not possible.
You are allowed to bring bags or backpacks with you. In the Kulturhaus, the Gothic Hall, and the Italian Courtyards, we kindly ask you to leave larger bags at the checkroom (for a small fee).
You are allowed to bring your own food to the open-air stage; however, we ask you to refrain from using glass bottles. We would also like to encourage you to try our lovingly prepared catering! For the Kulturhaus, the Gothic Hall, and the Italian Courtyards, we kindly ask you to refrain from bringing your own food and beverages.
There are two parking garages and a public parking lot in the immediate vicinity of the Kulturhaus Spandau. The parking area directly by the Kulturhaus is private parking only, and therefore unfortunately not available to the public. However, a maximum of two spaces are available upon request for visitors with severe disabilities.
The open-air stage at the Citadel and the Gothic Hall / Italian Courtyards do not have their own parking area. A few parking spaces are available free of charge on the street “Am Juliusturm.” Parking spaces for persons with disabilities are located on the Zitadellenweg (at the back of the car dealership).
We recommend that you arrive by public transport or by bicycle. Bicycle parking spaces are available on the premises.
For recognized plays, the regulations of JugendKulturService Berlin gGmbH apply. For groups without a JKS voucher, one accompanying person per group or per 10 children receives free admission. If you come as a family, everyone needs a ticket, except for children under 2 years of age.
If there are parallel events at the Citadel (concerts, Christmas market, etc.), please walk past the barrier on the right-hand side or queue up briefly (at the markets or festivals). Controls do not apply to events at the Kulturhaus; the security staff will be happy to let you through upon request.
If you have lost something at an event, please contact the customer service center (Kundenbüro) at the Kulturhaus.
